James I absolutely don't want to see anything that prescribes piloting decisions. Prescribe on the ground behaviour on pain of maiming by all means to make sure fences dont get climbed and owners rights and wishes are respected but flying guidance must always be exactly that.
The bee in my bonnet is that "known issues" must be promulgated to inform those piloting decisions. Over time as membership changes some of the site "lore" can get forgotten. Our site guide does have the information in it (as I have tried to show) but it may be a little too subtle?

Chaps - I need a "like" button for email as this is the sort of constructive debate we need on here.So - as we've debated the shortcomings of the site assessment are there some more stringent guidelines we would like to raise to the committee / site officer regarding Liddy in particular and our other sites in general? My only concern would be getting too prescriptive. At the end of the day it is ultimately the pilots decision whether to fly or not.In this case it is TVHGC sites for which there is a site guide and a wealth of experience of flying those sites that can be shared so that "feelings" can be supported by known facts that are not readily apparent at first visit.
IIUC Turbulence induced by lee thermals blown across the face of the hill at Luddy when the wind goes too far west are a known occurrence that cannot be "felt right" but must be divulged to the uninitiated.
