[TVHGC Members] Re: Pyrenees flying experience?

David I only just saw this so might be of no use but a friend of min Udo Peters and his Lady Jen used to run a PG guiding outfit near Perpignan and they had all the info and local contacts for the sites. We wen there and flew Ceret (which has a particular "time of day" met about it that means you might think it not flyable but it is) and he took us to Tuchan and Pereypetuse, Targassonne,, Carcassone and Batere and many other little known sites all the way up to Angola and to the coast at Leucate. The Tramontane wind is an issue on exposed sites but is perhaps not the killjoy that it is claimed if you know some sheltered ones.

he has relocated to Germany now but will have all the lowdown and contacts with local flyers that you would need for your project. Barcelona is also good and all the sites on both sides of the border were accessible to us through Udo and his local knowledge.
