Just had a message from richard hopkins - he's at rybury now and its flyable. The problem is he's the only pilot there and doesn't want to break the lone flying rule.

My apologies to Steves for thinking the reference to Polish was in jest.

I feel the same as Marcin that Signs in English, in France are for All non French Pilots, not necessarily UK Pilots, given that English is the "Lingua Franca" of the world.

I also feel that to choose Polish as the additional sineage language, as opposed to any other, does imply a view that Poles are a particular problem.

I also believe that no amount of sineage will stop an arse being an arse and that appears to be the nature of the people Richard encountered at the weekend.

Perhaps sign at the start of the road/track to the base of the hill saying "Strictly no admittance to pilots or their vehicles"? Might remove any doubt in the minds of "visitors" who have no clear idea of the site rules. At least then , when challenged, their only excuse would be illiteracy rather than "Oh I thought it was OK, it was ten years ago".

My apologies to Steves for thinking the reference to Polish was in jest.

I feel the same as Marcin that Signs in English, in France are for All non French Pilots, not necessarily UK Pilots, given that English is the "Lingua Franca" of the world.

I also feel that to choose Polish as the additional sineage language, as opposed to any other, does imply a view that Poles are a particular problem.

I also believe that no amount of sineage will stop an arse being an arse and that appears to be the nature of the people Richard encountered at the weekend.

Just trying to point out that translation is only one step. I think more important is to make sure ppl on site read them and if they dont we try to educate.

[TVHGC Members] Helmet stickers

26 helmet stickers ready to go out tomorrow to members who have joined or renewed in the last two weeks plus some requests for stickers not yet received. Please mail me at membership@tvhgc.co.uk if you still haven't received a sticker but have renewed before 5th May.

If anyone is a friend of, or knows the following pilots, can they ask them to get in touch please as I need to confirm some details before I can validate their membership and until then they are not approved to fly TVHGC sites:

Translating is not all. As you can see last time it was English pilots and I dare to assume they do speak English 😀. Making unknown people aware of site rules on a day is crucial. We can translate to all languages in the world but if ppl decide not to read it and just show up on the hill they wil still be not aware of rules. I fly tv sites few times a year and every time i go to Milk hill (once twice a year) I read site rules. Maps etc are universal and even one with limited command of English can understand them.
