[TVHGC Members] Milk Hill 27 Jan

Congratulations to the majority who managed to abide by the rules at Milk Hill yesterday, enjoying some brisk conditions in a top-end wind that was on the northerly limit for that site.  Hopefully the red ribbons who got blown over the fence in the bowl (where the wind is strongest…) learned that going backwards and getting dumped into a muddy field is not much fun!  If you don’t understand why this happened then please get in touch via private message.  However, if you do end up the wrong side of a fence PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB OVER IT.  This has been clearly stated many times.  Go to the gate and climb over at the hinge end if there is no open access to the field.

As seems to be the way of things recently, there always seems to be one person who cannot follow the rules.  Landing in the middle of the cropped field in front of Milk Hill is NOT ACCEPTABLE.  When conditions picked up everyone else managed to either slope land or bottom land in the acres of designated bottom landing sites.  I’d be delighted to hear from the pilot concerned, but from my viewpoint his decision to avoid those and land in the middle of an obviously cropped field was indefensible and totally unacceptable.

Follow the rules or lose the sites.  It’s that simple!
