On that subject I would like to thank Thee for her brilliant voluntary work covering all the social events over the last few years. I for one have found her relentless dedication to keeping the show on the road refreshing and will miss her in that role.

Thee has decided not to stand to Social Secretary next year due to her commitments out of Paragliding so we need to find another keen individual who wants to join the team.

Please contact myself or Richard Bungay if your interested. All the roles are up for grabs but we do have big gaps to fill in Tech/Comms, Social and Safety. Without these we can't continue with full operations in 2016. It's open to everyone!

I'll post more on this in a bit.

Sounds like an idea that might satisfy everyone e.g. sometimes somewhere on the outskirts of London for our London based members, other times somewhere closer to Bristol/Swindon for our western members etc.

All preferably within easy access of the motorway, rather than off the beaten track.

There is no Wednesday social in November (next week), however, we do have the AGM on Friday 27th November at The Swan in Inkpen.

Steve Nash will be joining us to talk about Team GBR's Red Bull X-Alps adventure. We are all looking forward to it!

Following the reduction in attendance at the Social Wednesdays over the last few months, please can I ask for your feedback and comments of what you would like to see from socials. Regular meetings, ad-hoc evenings out, continue with speakers (suggestions please) and so on? This will be a point of discussion at the AGM. If you prefer, you are welcome to comment on this post, or message me directly.

I am shamed by the response as I can see the back of Combe (or at least the wind turbine at Faccombe) from my bedroom window yet I rarely go to the socials. The ones I have been to have been great. I should MAKE AN EFFORT.

BTW who drives down Ox Drove, regularly, with a hang glider on the roof, any one know?

I'm almost certainly the odd one out, but I'd prefer the events to be mid-week as I stand a better chance of attending them due to distance and the fact that I can just occasionally combine it with a work trip up the M4. Sad fact that with such a super set of flying sites, you'll get a membership from a big area of the UK, so you can't hope to ever satisfy the majority as wherever the meetings are held, it will only be ideal for a minority.

Subject: [TVHGC Members] Social Update

Social update….

There is no Wednesday social in November (next week), however, we do have the AGM on Friday 27th November at The Swan in Inkpen.

Steve Nash will be joining us to talk about Team GBR's Red Bull X-Alps adventure. We are all looking forward to it!

Following the reduction in attendance at the Social Wednesdays over the last few months, please can I ask for your feedback and comments of what you would like to see from socials. Regular meetings, ad-hoc evenings out, continue with speakers (suggestions please) and so on? This will be a point of discussion at the AGM. If you prefer, you are welcome to comment on this post, or message me directly.

I can't speak for everyone but I am sure if you plugged in the locations of the majority of the membership you would probably find that I am not alone in my situation. Add to the distance and time taken for the travel and also the fact that you can't drink because you're driving and it all adds up I am afraid.

So don't look at the content, I think it is just a location issue, at least for me.
