Morning all,

I'll be driving from Market Lavington, just south of Devizes, through Pewsey and Marlborough to get to the BFR next Sunday (and back again obviously). Ian, GPS modules are on Ebay or Amazon there are lots of them, and some better than others...Ebay its faster and easier than dealing with overseas companies.   I went for the ADAFRUIT ULTIMATE GPS

However like all things home build and tech its moved on a bit now and got simpler.   Most folks are building in a Barometric module as GPS altitude alone isn't as accurate.  An Ozzy guy has a brand called BlueFly and he makes the inline module combining GPS and Baro in one and I would recommend it.  You purchase it from here http://www.blueflyvario.com/index.php/buy takes about a week to come and its called BlueFlyVario_TTL_GPS_v10.  There are 4 wires to solder + the software to install and setup and there is lots of info on his BlueFly website. 

Join up to this Kobo XCsoar Facebook group to to speak with folks who are doing this all the time.

If in doubt on the technical build and if your not tech savvy and good a soldering then I would recommend Nev Almond who does builds for pilots, I am sure there are others too.  I'll send you his details if you PM me otherwise he is contactable on the Facebook group link above.
